Many people ask “How can I help take care of the Parkway?” One of the primary ways is by becoming a V.I.P. or Volunteer in the Park. Throughout the National Park System, volunteers bring their specialized or routine skills to assist in a variety of projects.
The FRIENDS of the Blue Ridge Parkway is a membership organization founded in 1989 and currently having over 5,000 members. The FRIENDS’ primary mission is to mobilize and provide leadership for volunteers who assist with a wide variety of Parkway projects.
