Graveyard Fields Loop Trail (2.3 miles loop) leads to a bridge over the Yellowstone Prong of the Pigeon River through mountain laurel, rhododendron and open, grassy fields. Two spurs lead to views of upper and lower falls and are marked with signage.
In 1925, a fire swept across tens of thousands of acres here and left many dead tree trunks scattered across fields resembling gravestones. Almost completely bald until a few decades ago, the fields are now reforesting. Please note that this area’s popularity increases its vulnerability. Please dispose of trash in designated receptacles and stay on trails.Map
